SIRA is a Swedish foundation running two schools in Palestine, one in Bethlehem and the other in Jericho. The schools specialize in education for children aged from 6 to 12 years with learning difficulties, e.g. in reading and writing.
Education is the foundation for the future. But for children who have trouble reading and writing, schooling isn’t always an opportunity for development. The SIRA schools in Bethlehem and Jericho are the only schools in Palestine completely focusing on special education.
Our schools give more children a chance to build a solid foundation for the future.
The staff of our schools are around 20 people, all of them Palestinians. The work is financed by support from individuals, organizations, churches and is based on Christian values.
